What Happened to all those Water Bottles?
Now I realize gulping down a container of water after a workout on a long, hot summer afternoon is simply a memory for most of us right now, but where did all the water jugs go? Those little bottles are virtually disappearing.
What happens all too often, as temperatures start dipping and the layers of clothes begin to be added, it becomes easier to drop the "water bottle wherever I go" habit. Something about the cooler air seems to make us less thirsty and less apt to grab water containers.
The tendency will be to drink warmer fluids like coffee, teas, cocoa or the like, and though water is the main constituent, other ingredients (like caffeine) can actually cause dehydration. Try to keep these tips in mind:
--> Let the water warm-up at room temperature.
--> Conventional heaters dry the air & skin, drinking water helps replenish the lost fluids that can cause dry/itchy skin.
--> Keep a container or glass of water a hands reach away.
--> Drinking more water may speed up the recovery time from colds & flues.
--> Remember to re-fill, re-use and recycle the bottles instead of just trashing them.
And as always, don't wait until you are already thirsty to start quenching your thirst, drink water before, during and after your workouts -even this Winter.
Remember:
YOU have the POWER!
