Effects upon the heart rate are direct effects, not side effects. That is why anyone with any heart problems, high blood pressure, thyroid problems, or any other condition currently being treated with MAO inhibitors or other prescription drugs, should NOT TAKE thermogenic products.
One condition that is not often presented as a problem is that of hypoglycemia. Many individuals who already have trouble keeping their blood sugar stable, may experience light-headedness or dizziness, caused by the lowering of blood sugar that ephedrine/caffeine can cause. This process does not occur do drastically in people with normal blood sugar.
In general, by the time a person finishes a bottle of 60-90 caps or tabs of a thermo product, it is time to go off of thermos for a while.
Mike's rule of thumb on cycling off supplements- Stay off of a supplement for at least as long as you were on it.
