I didn't realise that Stretch marks affected so many people!!! I thought I was alone!
I refuse to believe that in the 21st Century there is no cure for sm.
They have sent man to the moon so I can not accept that there is no cure!In reply to Kelly who wanted to know about Mederma. It actually does work! I have had them on my lower leg, buttocks since my teens and life has been horrible because of them. I never wore anything where they'd be exposed. People said they weren't that bad, but they were to me.
Because we live in a society where people have to be perfect in order to be 'normal' or 'accepted'.
I wore shorts for the first time in years this year went I went to Florida. I was forced to as it was TOO DAMN HOT!!!!!
I can honestly say the sun helped them (No i didn't sunbathe but by just allowing the sun to touch them)and I just got to a point where I didn't care. They cannot rule my life!Anyway back to Mederma, I used it for a few months and the marks on my buttocks are virtually gone. There are still some deeper marks but Im sure they'll go in time. Different skin may respond differently to Mederma, but nothing ventured nothing gained.I felt slightly more confident with Mederma as it is something used for scar tissue after surgery and not just some concoction created for sm that doesn't work.
I also keep my skin well mosturised. If all else fails I will probably have laser treatment as a last result. But so far they are fading.
